Douglas-Bisbee FB rivalry advances to contest's final four

The Bisbee-Douglas football rivalry keeps on trucking in the USA TODAY High School Sport contest set on determining the nation's best prep football rivalry.

Bisbee athletic director Darin Giltnerand Douglas athletic directory Stephanie Phillips were informed Wednesday (Dec. 12) the Bisbee-Douglas rivalry was the top vote-getter in the West Region. Douglas-Bisbee now advances to the national final four for the contest's top honor where the voting becomes more intense and numerous.

Final voting begins Thursday Dec. 13 (9 a.m. Arizona time) and continues through Wednesday Dec. 19 when the nation's best high school football rivalry will be crowned. Vote by going to the contest website http://contest.usatodayhss.com/ Vote as many times as you want. The contest pitted entered rivalries from all 50 states and Washington D.C. with a state vote, a regional vote and now final vote among the four regional winners.

The prize to the winning rivalry is $10,000 to be split equally among thet  two schools. Bisbee and Douglas have been football rivals since 1906 and have played for the coveted Copper Pick since 1944.
