The top three teams in the most recent Divison I baseball power rankings don't look to be slowing anytime soon.

No. 1 Basha finished its week Thursday with another well-pitched game in defeating Mesquite, 4-2. Two days earlier it handed Hamilton its only power-ranking loss of the season, 2-1.

In Thursday's triumph Johnny Morell ran his season record to 5-0  with six strong innings. The senior right-hander scattered seven hits, didn't walk a batter and fanned six. He allowed one run (unearned). Morell boasts a 0.79 earned-run average in 35 1/3 innings. He's walked four and struck out 37. He's yet to give up more than one run in any of his starts. Basha is 16-3 overall and 10-0 in power-ranking games.

No. 2 Corona del Sol completed a suspended game on Thursday with Campo Verde and edged the visiting Coyotes, 7-6, in 11 innings. Price Barrett produced a walk-off single in the 11th as the Aztecs improved to 15-2, 8-0 prg. Brandon Bracy pitched five innings of shutout relief to pick up the win for Corona. Bracy gave up three hits and fanned three.

No. 3 Hamilton rebounded from its loss to Basha on Wednesday,  knocking off D-II power Greenway, 4-2. Cole Bellinger got the win hurling six quality innings and Drew Swift swooped in for the save. Hamilton is 16-3, 8-1 prg.
