Az Lutheran, Coolidge new No. 1's in football power rankings

A couple of new No. 1's emerged this week in the football power rankings with Coolidge and Arizona Lutheran grabbing the top spots in Division IV and V, respectively.

Coolidge replaces Snowflake.Coolidge defeated Coronado to remain the lone unbeaten team in D-IV. Coolidge faces a tough matchup Friday night visiting defending D-IV champ Seton Catholic, currently No. 4. Snowflake lost 38-35 to Blue Ridge. Snowflake slipped to No. 2 and Blue Ridge rose from 8 to 3. Dropping out of D-IV top 10 are Combs and Rio Rico and entering are Winslow (8) and Sahuarita (9).

Arizona Lutheran remained perfect on the year to move from 2 to 1 and take over for Thatcher. Arizona Lutheran plays host to No. 5 Yuma Catholic on Friday. Thatcher is also undefeated and No. 2. Both teams won last week, but Arizona Lutheran's strength of schedule boosted it past Thatcher. Falling out of D-V top 10 is San Tan Foothills and entering is Pusch Ridge (9). 

Mountain Pointe (7-0), Salpointe (6-0), Desert Edge (6-0) and Pima (6-0) won last week and stood their ground atop D-I, D-II, D-III and D-VI, respectively. Only Mountain Pointe and Westview are unbeaten in D-I. Falling out of D-I's top 10 is Skyline and moving in Basha (9). Salpointe and Sunnyslope (2) are the only unbeaten teams in D-II. Making the move to D-II top 10 is Campo Verde (6th) after it belted Marcos de Niza, 28-7. Sahuaro fell out of D-II's top 10, dropping to 11.

Williams Field replaces Queen Creek at No. 2 in D-III after Queen Creek lost to Saguaro. Desert Edge, Williams Field and Peoria (3) are the lone unbeaten teams in D-III. Falling out of the top 10 in D-III is Tempe (5th to 11th). Moving to the top-10 is Bradshaw Mountain (9).

Division VI had only slight shuffling in its top 10. Pima and Gilbert Christian (2), Bagdad (3) and Salome (5) are the only unbeaten D-VI schools.
