Pusch Rodge beat Desert Christian 173 to 228 on the front nine of the Oro Valley Country Club on Wednesday. This is the second victory for the Lions this year. Sophomore Kiah Franklin shot a 5-over-par 41 to lead the field with senior teammate Joshua Carroll and her sister Olivia Franklin coming in two strokes back.

Pusch Ridge will take a break before traveling to play Heritage Academy Laveen, Payson and Scottsdale Christian at the Orange Tree Golf Course in Scottsdale on March 20 and Desert Christian will take on the Gregory School on March 15 at the Fred Enke Golf Course,

This spring, the top team in each of the eight sections will earn an automatic playoff berth and seven at-large berths will be awarded to the next ranked teams. In addition, the top 15 athletes not attached to a qualifying team will make the state playoffs slated for May 6-7 at the Aguila Golf Course in Laveen.

Defending state champion Gracie McGovern of Scottsdale Christian signed with TCU, the senior was the first girl to win a D-III individual title in 16 years.
