Desert Vista wins the Fat Lever Shootout over Buena

FAT LEVER SANTA CRUZ BOYS SHOOTOUT
Dec. 28-30: Pueblo High School
Desert Vista went 3-0 in bracket play to win the Fat Lever Santa Cruz Shootout hosted by Pueblo High School this past week. The Thunder beat Buena in the championship game on Saturday 78-60 thanks to a 19-7 run to end the game.
Jesus Pacheco scored with 5:07 left in the game to cut the Desert Vista lead down to 59-53 but the Colts could only manage seven points the rest of the way to take second place.
Desert Vista (7-3) will host Maricopa (1-12) on Tuesday, Jan. 2 and Buena (10-5) will host Sunnyside (8-10) on Jan. 9.
