What is RSS?

RSS is a data format used for frequently updated web content, such as news sites or blogs. By having content in this format (often called a "feed"), users can subscribe to the feeds and stay up to date with their favorite content without having to visit the web site every day.

Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer support RSS feeds through "live bookmarks", which can be enabled by clicking the RSS icon that appears in the address bar when a feed it loaded. There are websites, such as Google Reader, Netvibes, Bloglines, and My Yahoo, that will read RSS feeds as well.
