Gilbert Christian play host to the 3rd annual Christian Cup Boys Basketball Tournament Thursday (Dec. 5) through Saturday (Dec. 7) at Gilbert Christian High.

Five schools from out of state (four from California and one from Georgia) plus three Arizona schools comprise the eight-team field. Gilbert Christian won the tournament last year.

Here is the opening-day schedule: Thursday Dec. 5: -- 3:30 p.m. -- Brookside Christian (Stockton, Calif.) vs. Augusta Christian, (Martinez, GA); 5 p.m. -- Westwood vs. Horizon Christian, (San Diego Calif.); 6:30 p.m. -- Gilbert Christian vs. Joy Christian; 8 p.m. -- Oaks Christian, (Westlake Village Calif.)  vs. Woodland Christian, (Woodland, Calif).

Friday Dec. 6 losers' bracket games at 3:30 and 5 and winners' bracket games at 6:30 and 8. Placement games Saturday Dec. 7 are at 1:30 (7th),  3 (5th), 4:30 (3rd) and 6 p.m. (championship).
