Here's a look at the two semifinal football playoff games featuring teams from Southern Arizona:

DIVISION II

Semifinals: Friday, November 21

Paradise Valley High School (NFHSNetwork)

No. 4 Vail Cienega vs. No. 1 Peoria Liberty, 7 pm

Liberty (11-1) suffered its only loss of the year in week six to No. 3 Peoria Centennial (10-2). It was a 17-14 win for Centennial but the Coyotes opened up the season with two losses so they found themselves trying to catch Centennial and, even with the win, the Lions earned a higher seed come selection day.

Liberty's only other close game of the year game in week one against No. 2 Ironwood Ridge where the Lions came away with a 24-20 win on the road. Besides that game and their loss, senior QB Tyler Wyatt has guided his team with 2,130 yards passing and 21 TDs.

Wyatt has two main targets in juniors Deyton Jackson (699 yards) and Alex Jackson (688). Senior RB Jake Schuiteboer has carried the ball 175 times for 1,052 yards and 15 TDs.

On the defensive side, junior linebacker Chase Hulbert leads the team with 113 tackles. Wyatt also serves time as placekicker and he has made 7-of-13 with his longest coming from 47 yards out.

Cienega (11-1) lost its opening game to Ironwood Ridge 17-7 and has since run off 11 straight wins. Unlike Liberty, many of Cienega's games came down to the last few possessions. They held a 36-10 lead on No. 12 Marcos de Niza with 11 minutes left in the game but held on for the 50-49 win in double overtime.

Key to the Padres comeback in that game, however, was the success of two onside kicks and the passing of sophomore Naz Greer (411 yards and 6 TDs).

Senior QB Adriell Alvarado leads the Bobcats with 2,043 yards passing and 16 TDs. Senior Terrence Johnson has 557 yards receiving and senior Matt Aragon has 418. Francisco Dicochea has rushed for 1,549 yards and 21 TDs on the year.

Junior Will Walker has 100 tackles and Johnson has 81. Junior kicker Jacob Meeker-Hackett is 9-13 with 51 yards being his longest.

DIVISION IV

Semifinals: Saturday, November 22

Marana High School (NFHSNetwork)

No. 2 Sahuarita vs. No 3 Mohave Valley River Valley, 6 pm

River Valley (11-1) lost to Lakeside Blue Ridge in the Division IV championship game last year. Their only loss this year came at D-V power No. I Yuma Catholic in the fourth week, 43-34.

Hardly challenged the rest of the way, the Dust Devils survived a 21-14 win against No. 6 Goodyear Estrella Foothills at home in the quarterfinal round to set up their game with Sahuarita.

Senior Brady Viles has thrown for 1,413 yards and 15 TDs. Senior Brandon Long leads the team with 488 yards receiving but he also has 1,998 yards rushing with 34 TDs. Junior Jacob Lee has 168 tackles. River Valley has only attempted one field goal all year.

Sahuarita (12-0) has been on a tremendous roll since losing to Winslow in the first round last year. The Mustangs defeated defending champions Blue Ridge twice to help set the tone for the year.

Senior QB Calvin Jenkins has thrown for 1,772 yards and 24 TDs. Junior Allyn Williams has 443 yards receiving and senior Ryan Bell has 415. Senior Geovan Neuser has 1,158 yards rushing and Jenkins has 714.

Junior Jacob Ontiveros has 112 tackles and junior Tanner Liddicoat has 106.
