Former Mesa Mountain View quarterback Max Hall was arrested this past weekend in Gilbert on suspicion of shoplifting and drug possession.

Hall's arrest was first reported by AzCentral.com  on Tuesday. Hall was arrested at a Gilbert Best Buy store. Hall was booked and later released on Aug. 30 (Saturday).

Hall, who helped lead Mountain View to its last state title in a 15-0 state championship season in 2002 on one of Arizona's best high school teams ever, also had a huge career quarterbacking BYU. He later played part of one season for the Arizona Cardinals. His last professional opportunity came in the CFL.

Hall is second all-time in passing yardage at BYU. He played  in six games for the Cardinals in 2010 after signing as an undrafed free agent.  Hall is the nephew of former Westwood High, ASU and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Danny White. Hall is currently Gilbert High's offensive coordinator and served in that role last Friday night in the Tigers' 27-14 season-opeing win over Mesquite.

It's the second hit to Gilbert High's varsity program in the last three weeks. Head coach Tim Rutt is on paid leave as the school continues an investigation involving Rutt.
