With plenty of high-level seniors playing this fall including Morgan Messick of Canyon del Oro, Desiree Hong of Sahuaro and Sydney Colwill of Ironwood Ridge, Haylin Harris comes in as Salpointe's freshman sensation.

“I like the pressure of playing the older girls,” said Harris during the Junior Golf Association (JGAA) State Championship this past summer. “Golfing against them gives me the test that I need. It pushes me.”

Harris is an Indianapolis native who came to Tucson two years ago and is thriving on the year-round golf available in Tucson. She won the Thompson Invitational and the Mesa City Junior Championship with a second place finish at the Yuma City Junior Championship. Harris also took second the JGAA State Championship to Hong this past summer.
